This jatha consists of three brothers from Ludhiana. Bhai Harjit Singh started his vocal training at the tender age of 6 from Professor Onkar Singh Ji of Ludhiana and then he continued to learn from his cousin Bhai Harpreet Singh Preet. At present, he is furthering his training with the great exponent of Sham Chaurasi gharana, Pandit Hari Dev Ji from Goraya, Punjab. Pandit Hari Dev Ji is a disciple of the renowned Master Rattan of Phagwara. In 2006, Bhai Harjit Singh took part in a Gurmat Sangeet competition organized by the Punjabi University of Patiala and won the gold medal. Following his success, he took part in the reality show based on Gurmat Sangeet, Gavoh Sachi Bani on PTC Punjabi channel in 2010. He emerged as the winner of the competition against many other talented individuals. Since then, he has performed in many raag darbars throughout India, such as the Adutti Gurmat Sangeet Samelan in Jawaddi Taksal. He has also traveled abroad to many countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai and Canada. He is accompanied on side harmonium and vocals by his brother Bhai Manpreet Singh, who is also a student of Pandit Hari Dev Ji. His brother, Bhai Surjit Singh provides accompaniment on tabla. Bhai Surjit Singh is a disciple of Ustad Kulwinder Singh, who in turn is a disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha Khan. The recordings below were mostly recorded at my residence.
